3.1.12

2012

This last year has been a massive one... such a life changing thing it is to bring a being into the world! I hardly feel ready to begin a new one, but begin it we have and so on with the show.

We've just returned from an insanely lovely time at the beach, hanging out with family, introducing Leo to ocean swims, to bicycle rides, to the joy of knocking down towers of blocks, to eating mangos in the pool, to Christmas goodness. And this week, we relish in his papa being home from work for another few days - so many jobs to get done! But also more swims, visits to the museum, picnics and more bike rides.
And only then shall we get a bit more serious and on to the business of this new year. There are exciting things afoot... a semi return to work, more for Miette Handmade, and an impending first birthday to celebrate!

Here are a few snaps from these delightful weeks...

29.11.11

There's not much going on here at Chez Leo other than sewing sewing sewing.
With a little bit of sunny balcony bathtime thrown in to the mix.

Happy first day of summer to those of us down here in the Southern hemisphere.  To celebrate, we are going camping this weekend - one of my favourite activities in the world, and one which has been rather missed lately.

This is me - well, my belly - one year ago exactly, camping and counting down the weeks till baby's arrival. Will be lovely to go again, this time with the little tyke joining us on the outside!

2.8.11

Home again home again jiggety jig...

Despite coming back to winter and despite the jetlag meaning little bubs is up at all hours, it's lovely to be home...
We had a wonderful time away, and so great for Leo to meet all his French family. Just awful leaving them. More on this later perhaps.
In the meantime, here's a few Frenchy pics...

27.6.11

So the weather is glorious, the food, well what can I say about French home cooking? Fresh from Papi's gardens, cooked with some mysterious flare or ingredients that I'm sure I just couldn't replicate. And the bisous and hugs have been brewing for 5 months for this little Australian grandchild and are now flowing with abundance!

I am sitting in front of a computer that is from the 1980s and takes the morning to load and the sun is beckoning and the kitchen smells are calling to me and mu bubba is playing with his toes in the garden and so I dont think I'll be spending much time here.
Just wanted to pop in with a little hello from the South of France, a little pic of our already well travelled bubba (we stopped in Bali on the way for 4 days for a friend's ridiculously luxurious 40th birthday thankyou very much) and the information that I will pop in every now and then if it's raining. maybe.

Sending much sun, smelly cheese, and wine collected in jerry cans from the local producer to wherever you are...

8.6.11

Holy crap it's cold here. I normally don't mind a bit of chilliness but I'm really struggling at the moment... it's positively icy.
Just as well I'm heading to summer in little over a week!! Yes, we're packing our bags and lugging Leo to the sunny shores of France to hang out with the hubby's family for 6 weeks. Bliss...

I'm reminding myself of our last trip there... full of sun, beautiful food, fresh produce, good wine and did I mention sun? Just got to get through one more week of winter (and a rather long plane trip).

28.4.11

My sister and her partner are co-owners of a fabulous property in country Victoria. They decided a while ago to host a little party/festival over the Easter weekend, complete with bands, meals, camping, beach time - Leo's first toes in the ocean - and lots of entertaining extras. We took Leo along for his first camping experience (although we ended up taking advantage of an extra room in the house) and we all had a ball. I had trouble leaving to come back to the big city and am already missing the fresh air, simple living and wide open spaces...
